My home or office is too messy - I'm embarrassed!
Closets by Chicka!!! provides complete confidentiality and non-judgmental assistance. With our help, you won’t have to be embarrassed with cluttered rooms and closed doors and closets when guests come. You’ll want to have your friends and colleagues over to enjoy your home.
How long will it take to get organized?
The duration of a project has many variables - the size of the project/room and the amount of time you have available as well as your commitment to getting and staying organized.
What will happen to things I no longer want to keep?
Closets by Chicka!!! can find a worthy home for items you choose not to keep. Options include donations to local charities, consignment to resale shops, or selling items at a garage sale. We can even help you set up and organize your garage sale.
How does the organizing process work?
First, I will assess the areas that are bothering you the most and determine how to solve the problem, based on your needs, situation, and time frame. An appointment or series of appointments are set up for the actual organizing project. We will work together through the following steps which apply to any area that needs to be organized:
Sort - This is where you look at each possession and determine what is important to you. Similar items are then grouped together so you can see how much you actually have.
Purge - This step involves deciding what to get rid of. You will need to make decisions whether to toss, sell, give away, donate, recycle, or keep and store elsewhere. The support and guidance provided by Closets by Chicka!!! will help you with the decision-making process.
Find a Home - Everything must have a place where it belongs. Objects that you are keeping will be assigned a location based on ease of use, size, function, and safety.
Containerize - The right container keeps categories of items grouped together, making maintenance and retrieval a quick process. There are many options for containers, beginning with creative uses for containers you already have. We will take measurements so that the best size and shape will be used, based on contents and space available. Closets by Chicka!!! will provide resources for containers, and shopping assistance can be arranged if needed.
Maintenance - Closets by Chicka!!! will design systems to help you maintain the newly organized space. There is no one way to organize, and periodically adjustments will be necessary as your life situations change.
Do I work alongside the professional organizer during the sessions?
That is completely up to you. In order for you to learn how to stay organized, it is best for you to be part of the process. We can organize rooms or areas in your home without your assistance but for home offices one of the homeowners is required to be part of the process.
What happens during a consultation?
We come to your home to see the space(s) you need help getting organized and to discuss what is working, what is not working, and what is causing the disorganization. Then goals, plans, time frames, and the steps to move forward are discussed in detail. Consultations are not necessary but are strongly encouraged depending on the space and project.
